What is HTTP

HTTP means Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. HTTP is a set of rules for transferring files (text, graphic, image, sound, video and other multimedia files) on the WWW(World Wide Web).

This is primarily and simple technology protocol on the web application. HTTP was invented in 1965 by Ted Nelson. It provides technology to communicate between web servers and web users. Its first document Version HTTP vo.9 was Launch in 1991.

When you open a web page, enter ” http: //” next to its URL address, which asks the browser to communicate on HTTP. In today's browsers, there is no need to write HTTP in front of the URL, because it is coming with the default method of communication. Since most of the web browsers take the HTTP as default, you only have to type the domain name and the browser can auto-fill part of the “http: //”.

HTTP is called “Stateless System”. This means that unlike other file transfer protocols such as FTP, the HTTP connection drops after being requested. Therefore, once your web browser sends the request and the server responds with the web page, the connection is closed.
